honesty has suffered a serious blow in todays society. not only do people no longer value it the way it was once valued, often times it is encouraged and praised. the year 2009 really taught me the value of being honest in the face of whatever obstacle stands opposite you. whether its embarrassment, discipline, or disrespect. no matter the repercussions, we as people need to stay honest, both with ourselves and others. that means no more lying to yourself. no more attempts to justify an act you know in your heart to be wrong. be honest. admit your mistake. be an actual adult, and take responsibility for your choices.
choices. there's a word i find beautiful. we all have choices. whether we know it or not, 99% of the time, we have a choice. that choice might be between bad and worse, and we may not always make the best ones, but remember that you have the freedom and power to make choices. who you love, where you live, what you do, what you want. there is a choice for everything. these choices can be overwhelming. its hard to see the choices of people i love take a turn for the worse. i haven't been making the best choices monetarily lately. i can still pay all my bills and then some. but for a man that claims to be frugal so often, november consisted of a many senseless purchases. choices i made, and now, come christmas, i was have to accept those choices whatever the outcome.
two friends surprised me on black friday by showing up at my door. i couldn't have asked for a better gift from you guys. thank you so much. you revitalized me emotionally and physically. i really feel i can make it to easter now.
