the world is spiraling out of control. i have an image of the way i feel the world could be perfect. picture a civilization where each person took care of the people they knew, and that was it. this is already true to a certain extent, but there are too many old men with too much power trying to do "whats best for me." i'm sorry, but how the hell do you know whats best for me? you don't even know me. you've never met me or my family, and you never will. stop trying to help me, and help the people who you know. the ones whose problems you are actually aware of. you do that, and i'll take care of my loved ones, whose problems I am aware of.
if there is any civilization that had it right, its native americans. obviously now there are too many people on this planet to live in close knit tribes of mostly family members. but think about it. there was no money, only charity. you were responsible for people in your tribe. you knew everyone, and i'm sure (for the most part) you cared about everyone in your tribe. of course you're not gonna be friends with the asshole down the path that doesn't share his rabbit skin, but he just gets screwed in the winter when you've got food and he doesn't. the world works better when people take care of people and things they're immediately connected to.
you may disagree. thats fine. the beauty of the human condition is individuality. it is both our greatest gift and our biggest flaw. the hatred in the world is without reason. americans hate muslims because 19 of them followed 1 mans orders and crashed planes into the world trade towers. muslims hate americans because we're free and enjoy excess. jews hate muslims. and north koreans hate everyone. why? people there are too many old men with too much power in this world.
our world is too big for its own good. we need to expand
Well, I read of a 1-way trip to one of Mars' moons. Should occur sometime around 2021, and include around 100(?) people and the provisions to set up a settlement on that moon, then once we're established on the moon, we move to Mars, and hopefully have the technology to Terraform, or set up a larger "Biodome"-type establishment. I'll find the link to the article and post it.
